The future of drilling lenses for rimless mounts is now. The CNC Opti-Drill enables APV Optical Lab to overcome the difficulties of lens drilling. This equipment yields an accuracy only a computer can achieve. Innovative drilling control ensures precise hole, slot or notch location, size and alignment for perfectly matched lenses every time.
This system is so versatile that drilling and slotting in any combination is accomplished with a single 1mm router-type bit. Our CNC operation puts our lab technician in complete control of the drilling process, eliminating costly breakages that save you and your patient valuable time.
How It Works
Your lenses are precisely positioned utilizing the edging blocks which are already mounted on the lenses. Lens materials are drilled according to thickness and sensitivity to the speed of the drill bit itself. Polycarbonate and Trivex lens materials receive additional water cooling treatments to discourage starring or warping effects.
The frame manufacturers model number and size are selected from the database. Frames that may not be in the database are easily added. Jobs that require matching a single lens can also be quickly processed by entering particular measurements into the drilling program, ensuring a solid fit every time on virtually all of the current rimless frames on the market!!!
